Does anyone know what the signifigance of the crowd at the opera, in the next to final scene, saying "ooooh" to Glenn Close was?  I was told it had an impolite meaning - from things disclosed in her letters which Valmont distributes before he dies - in France and I'm curious if anyone has heard this too and can confirm it.

I always assumed it was the French equivalent of "booo..."
