The old "maybe we should just be friends" routine.

Does anyone else hate it as much as I do?

Background:

A friend I've been crushing on for a couple of years now finally told me that she's felt the same about me.  We got together and had a wonderful night.  Now she's giving me the whole "I need to think about this and I'm not sure if we should continue" treatment.

There was a time this would have torn me up.  My attitude toward it now is, basically, if she's afraid of being happy, that's her damn problem.  My life will go on.

I still hate this crap, though.   :hatred:

Ladies, seriously, if you aren't 100% sure about it beforehand, don't even attempt to start anything romantic with a male friend!  You just can't do that to a guy and expect him to be like, "Ah, well, okay.  Everything will be like it was before."

Did you know that it's a verb?  "Let's just be friends," the verb is "to LJBF."

Usage:  Akiraturbo has been LJBF'd, and no sir, he doesn't like it.

Or,

"I went to the mall and LJBF'd Nick."

Joe the Destroyer

I didn't get the "LJBF" one quite as much, though I did get it a few times.  The ones I would get are girls that were afraid to "LJBF" me, get all antsy and act all weird and standoffish until I said something about it.  I had to break things off with a few past girlfriends over that one.  They always say things like, "Maybe some other time," or "We can stay friends."  It just doesn't work that way, especially if you did anything sexual with them.  I still say they should spare the whole "some other time" routine.

But yeah, I feel ya' there.

Not me, , there's usually too much hate and resentment involved for women to want to be friends with me.

Thanks, guys.  I didn't mean to start a pity party.

Oh, and she's not sure if we're going to be just friends yet.  She's got to think about it.

Sure, sure.

Ive had similar experinces I think most guys have. There was this one girl I was hanging out for a while and the very day I was going to ask her to go out with me, she said she had a boyfriend. Didn't tell me about it for the 3 months we were hanging out. Women can be freaking evil sometimes.

Sadly, I wish most chicks I've dated would have said LJBF.   :bluesad:

I hate the 'let's just be friends' routine. I usually use the 'please don't call me again' routine. But seriously, i don't sleep with my friends. There have been friends before that i have had sort of a sexual tension with  them when i first met them but it usually goes away when i get to really know them. I did have one friend though that the tension was so bad, i swear i could almost hear porno music in the background when i got around him. Sadly, i knew better than to act on it (he was more fuc&*% up than even me) and eventually he got married and now it's not the same, which is actually sort of a relief.  Atleast i don't feel like prey about to be served for lunch now.
I have quite a few males i'm friends with, but there is no confusion with them to as what type of friendship we have.

I try to avoid the 'friend zone' from both ends. So i'll just stick to have dirty thoughts about people i dont know  :bouncegiggle:.

oh well, there's no room for cheap regrets.

I don't get laid enuff to get the routine after sex...usually it comes before. I'll be making my move and-"I don't want to ruin our freindship." Whut the HELL does that mean?!?! I want to have sex! That means I like you a lot! I don't wanna f%ck my enemies!

I don't say that,off course...I just kinda go-"Huh? Aw...c'mon...wha? cheezzz...awright...think it over...ya know...like mebbe some other time...?" Pretty dam pathetic...I know... :bluesad:

'Course,I haven't been on a date in YEARS. I was married once...and hadda kids with my first girlfreind. I don't get out...I saw my ex girlfreind from 1985 twice...but she's nuts. I don't wanna get involved with her.I think shes psychotic.
