Help......

So I am 27 years old and for the longest time I have been trying to think of his movie but the only thing I can remember is a couple of scenes.  Well I'll try to explain them and hopefully you will be able to help.  

So the things I remember is that it was made in the early 80's.  The plot (that I remember) is that 2 guys were staying in this house and they went through a secret passage and find another world (?)  Also there was a character that is their dead uncle (Uncle Jesse?) and he wore overalls.
Also I remember them finding a crystal skull.  

I don't even know if it's a movie or not.  All I know is that I haven't seen it in forever and not knowing the name of it is absolutely killing me.
