I own way too many copies of this.

I was looking through my movies the other day, getting ready to pack up and move, and I was appalled to find out how many repeats I have. I had several movies where I had two copies, some because of multi-packs but also a few where I had two seperate single issue dvds! For example, Q, the Winged Serpent. I have two copies (one from Blue-Underground and the OOP Anchor Bay edition) and the Howling (regular and special editions). Most of these don't bother me and I regularly sell off my duplicates, but this time I found out I had three different copies of the Last Boy Scout. Now, I legitimately HATE this movie and I found out I had a single edition, in a four pack with Eraser and some others, and a three pack with Action Jackson. So, I was curious if anyone else had this happen to them where you just ended up saying, "I own WAY too many copies of this movie."

Horror of Dracula -- I got rid of a copy just recently, and I notice I still have 3 copies in different formats & by different issuers --

Actually, this is true of a number of other Hammer titles as well -- eg.  2 copies of Quatermass and The Pit, one of which is a blurry French bootleg with the color bleeding out of it.  I will probably keep them both . . .

I have no idea what this means.

When I end up with duplicates, I usually give one copy to my parents.  Buying duplicates doesn't happen often, but sometimes it is unavoidable.  For example, I have a stand-alone copy of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, but I also have it as part of a Mill Creek 50 movie pack.  Another example is AIRPORT 1975.  I bought a stand-alone copy several years ago, then I ended up with it again when I bought the AIRPORT TERMINAL PACK.  The most unusual situation I can think of is that I bought 3 copies of HELL'S BLOODY DEVILS.  The first copy seemed to have a glitch on the menu screen.  I tried it on my parents' DVD player and there was no glitch, so I gave it to them and ordered another copy for myself.  When I got the second copy, it had the same glitch on the menu screen (I guess it's an issue with my DVD player for this specific movie).  About a year later I ordered about 20 DVDs online in one shot.  My brain was thinking SATAN'S SADISTS, but I mistakenly ordered HELL'S BLOODY DEVIL'S again.  This THIRD copy is still in the shrink wrap!

I have 3 copies of the original star wars trilogy.  The original on VHS.  Then the original with THX sound on VHS.  Then the special edition on DVD.  I was able to control myself and I didn't buy the original "non special edition" when it came out on DVD a year or two ago.

I know the director and and the DOP personally ~ whenever I'm asked about it as its' a South African film, my reply is usually "_______ _____ __ _________ ________ "
as out of respect for them, I don't want to say anything bad.

Some trivia:

This was only the third SA horror movie ever made,
It was an SA version of Halloween
It is also known as Midnight Caller
It was co-produced by a SA politician Dave Dalling.

Memo to self: possibly write a review for Andrew about it? Yes, indeedy.  :teddyr:

I'm afraid I only made it about 20 minutes into that.  Oh dear, oh dear oh dear...  Now it's sitting on my pile of movies that I didn't finish, but really should - since I paid money for them - someday.

I've got 3 copies of the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  Ordered a used copy, it froze up in my DVD player.  They replaced it with another copy that froze up.  Finally gave in and bought a new copy.

I've got three separate copies of the original "Night Of The Living Dead" - A stand-alone copy, one on a disc with "Revenge Of The Zombies" and one in the "Elvira" box set.
There are few things more beautiful than a sporting montage with a soft-rock soundtrack

You mean we are supposed to keep track of what we own?

F$*K!!!!!!!!!!!! Does life get ANY easier?!?  Huh?  man.....

I think I have about six copies of "Don't Look In The Basement", and that's without looking.

Dawn Of The Dead (1978)

I have the LD, the single Theatrical Cut DVD and the DVD set (that'll be 2 x Extended, 2 x Theatrical 1 x Euro Version). I don't really mind because DOTD happens to be one of my favorite movies.

Really F'n Cool...

If you can, tell him that I really do like the film. The topless cat and mouse scene is surprisingly good and it has inspired me to included that idea in my "Next Mission" script and my "Missing Person" script (which I'm currently rewriting "Missing Person" as my first novel)

The only copies of Star Wars 4/5/6 that I did own (my mother has them now) is the 10th anniversary VHS edition I think was released in 1987... Its funny how Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are also labled 10th anniversary when they were not 10 years old... :)

I think we are still missing the 3rd part of LOTR...
