Gang:

As I've been away, I've fallen in with a group who love bad movies as much as you do - maybe even more?  At any rate, one of them started a thread that I think is worthy of starting up on this board.  So here we go....

Many of you already know many bad movies got released on VHS, but what about the artwork for these babies?  Can you say crayola?  Can you say line drawings?  Can you say Third Grade Art Class?  Allow me to let the pictures do the talking:

Now, let us see how many more examples we can come up with!

...What in the hell is Cannibal Campout with that cover?

Anyway, I was actually looking at lots of VHS covers to various bad movies last night, some looked like they were well-drawn or well-painted while others were downright hideous.

These two for the same movie both look pretty drab.

Cthulhu

How can someone be so cheap that they actually draw a cover with a pencil? I'm looking at you Cannibal campout.

Psycho Circus

I still think all these are better than most of today's DVD covers....

If you're talking about the crappy Photoshop mishmashes they inexplicably put on movies that already have top-quality poster art, then I agree completely.

Cannibal Campout is a bit odd... but at least I know now that I could have gotten a job when I was 5 to do crayon drawings for some company somewhere.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I thought that said "fun, romance, crap" then.

This has an awesome hologram which you can't see.

I remember this one from my video store days. The lenticular hologram was the worst I think I've ever seen on anything.

Not necessary the worst, but it is kind of funny they did "photoshopping" in the 80s as well:

Jim H

Yeah, they did.  That's actually quite well-done for the time.  It was a LOT harder to do in those days, especially that well.

To be fair to whoever arranged the cover, that's what the actual cartoon looks like...  Also, I know this is the DVD, but it's just slightly modified to fit the proportions of DVD and I couldn't find as good of a quality VHS scan.
