This has been bothering me for yearrsss!! 80s alien movie??Title??

Ok my memory of this movie isnt good at all but the one thing i remember is that there was this alien in this kids home and at the end this other alien comes to earth and appears in this kids home to capture this alien, and the good alien explains that this alien was just a pet and it escaped. Then all of a sudden some guy comes in the room and sees this good alien and shoots him. This is the only thing i remember!! And its killing me!!!!!! Hopefully someone can explain this mystery!

wow lol thats it!! Damn just watched the trailer and looks very cheesy lol funny how things look different now compared to 20 yrs ago
