There was a movie on when i was younger use to show on showtime
I want to say it was black and white but i remember a girl in a purple dress
ok, i believe there was a ship wreak in the middle of the ocean and some people made it to a life boat however the lifeboat was crowded and for it to movie they had to take some people that were either sick or hurt or older and throw them back in the ocean, i remember there being a trail at the end of the movie where the guy that was making the choices of who to kick off was on trail and some of the survivors were against the guy and so were for the guy. this was earily 90's or late 80's. I remember a girl wearing a dress that was long and she was sick and hurt and they had to throw her in the water to get some of the people or out the ocean.
any clues on this one? been looking for years. thanks. might be a true story and some of it was told though flashbacks.

Rayo Casablanca

that's got to be "Abandon Ship" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050091/
Or a remake. Same plot, same trial.

1975's The Last Survivors is a possibility too.

Rayo Casablanca is correct, but there is an even earlier version of this same story. "Souls at Sea" from 1937 with Gary Cooper and George Raft. I have seen all three films, and the 1937 version is my favorite of the three.
