Another 'mystery' killer robot movie!?

Ok, so I looked up: Hardware, Chopping Mall, and Evolver. None of these ring a bell.

Here's the movie (to the very best of my memory, some 20 years ago or so):

There's this nice robot, seems to me it was yellow. It functions a lot like the robot in the Rocky movies. Then I think it gets struck by lightning and it turns evil. Something about it has a human soul in it or something, not sure. I saw it on TV many years ago, around Christmas time. Haven't been able to find it at all, please point me in the right direction!

Could be Deadly Friend.

What you describe makes up part of the plot, the main plot involves the genius boy who made the yellow robot using its CPU or something to resurrect his dead girlfriend.
