In my life I'm pretty much 100% frustrated and isolated.  here it's only 98 or 99%!


everyone once in a while I'll try to find another movie forum but I can never seem to find one.  that avmaniacs is similar but it's intimidating and they are nazis about having to use your real name.

I have 100% proof that this is the best forum anywhere - when my Dad passed last year, the members here carried me through.

I gravitate towards smaller forums, its easier to get to know people and there is less drama. I really like this place, the people are friendly, funny, and don't have huge ego's.

I'm not going to say this is the best message board on the internet. I don't go to any other message boards, so I have no comparison.

I will say that every person here seems to be a decent, upstanding person. Certainly the level of intelligence and decorum is unparalleled (as far as I know).

What keeps me coming back, and I've been here for at least a decade, is the sheer breadth of knowledge. Not just about b-movies, but about every topic you could think of. That people with such wildly different outlooks on life can get together without stupid flame-wars is refreshing.

But really, can you find a group of people who know more about every movie ever made? Not just the movies that make the hoity-toity critics lists, but every movie? Pick any random obscure director, and see if the denizens of this board can't fill you in on every detail of the oeuvre.

This is definitely the best one I've ever been to.  Aside from this, I was only a regular on a few other websites.  I used to post on GameFAQs (as Bored Gamer), got tired of that, posted on Monster Zero's forum for a while until it got boring, and posted off and on on several other sites like Game Sages, IMDb (some of the worst), AudioGalaxy (THE worst), and YouTube.  Although, I still post on YouTube, but only when I feel antagonistic.

You know, despite a lot of our differences and how we don't always see eye to eye on things, our little community here on the forums is a rather pleasant place.  I have been all over the Internet and I have been reading comments on topics and looking at forums they have.  I must say, there is an extremely large amount of jerks out there.  They'll harrass you if you try to defend something, they'll make death threats against others, they'll make fun of you if you give your opinion, they'll insult whatever the topic is just to be an ass, and tons of other things.

AOL commenters are mostly Obama haters [somehow they always always puts a political spin on any article], racists, and possibly pyschopaths (Once saw a guy who constantly made comments of how funny it was that someone raped and killed a woman in one article); YouTube is stock full of devious little freaks that have nothing better than mock someone(Actually had someone threaten to kill me one time); in almost every popular Wii game's forum on Gamespot you'll see a topic started by a fanboy who will just rant and insulted game without even playing it; IGN has people who will tell you die if you make a logical comment or opinion; and don't even get me started about IMBD.

So, I see this forum and feel happy to be in a place where you aren't looked down upon almost all the time.  Do you understand what I mean?

You realize this all means that, in terms of majority rule and its defacto claim on what is "normal," ...WE'RE the maladjusted ones.

This thread appears about once a year here and is usually started by someone fairly new to the board.  I have to say I'm glad this happens because it helps to remind those who've been here longer than the poster how great a thing we have going here.

We've had our tiffs over things, but everything always seems to fall back into balance.

There are some damned good folks here and they care for each other and I always hope it stays that way.

We currently have a troll over at one of my favorite artifact boards, PROSBB.com , who makes me appreciate this place everytime he posts more of his spewing venom.  Thanks so much, BMDO, for not drawing his ilk here!
