I know I saw Abbey Road mentioned, but did anyone suggest The White Album?  If not, here I go: The Beatles: The White Album.

"O Forunta" in one version or another, has GOT to have made the list.  Either in the original Orff version or the Apotheosis remix.  (Course, that album was pulled because they forgot to get permission to use that song, so dunno if an "illegal" album can be on the list or not.)

Still, it's a classic piece of music (if sometimes overplayed in films), and I'd be surprised if it wasn't on there.

AHD: not "September of My Years." -1.  But somehow I missed your earlier "Five Leaves Left," which was correct for +1.  So net 0.
Happy: Yes on "Paul's Boutique," "Planet Rock,"The Chronic",and "Straight Outta Compton." " No on "Ace of Spades" and "Sailing the Seas of Cheese."  Net: +2.
DCA: No on "Blue." -1.
Newt: "Court and Spark" was the one.  Also, no one had named "The White Album" yet, so that's another point for a +2 total.
Jase: Not "Closer," and noi on "Freedom of Choice" and "Violator." -3.  Bluesad
Circus: +2 for "Rock Around the Clock." (Correct singles are worth 2 points).  Also +1 for "Psycho (Soundtrack). +3 total.
BTM: Prepare to be surprised (I am).  There's no version of "O Fortunata" on the list.  I think that's a big mistake. -1.

Circus_Circus +16, Newt +10, DCA +3, Jack +2, Happy Gilmore +1, Pilgermann +1, Doggett + 0.5,  Jim H. 0,  Voltron 0, The Burgomaster -1, BTM 1-, The DarkSider -1,  Allhallowsday -2, WilliamWeird -1, Andrew -3, Derf -4, xXx_JaseSF_xXx -5

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Ray Charles (or, Hallelujah, I Love You So by Ray Charles
Shaft- Isaac Hayes (either the song or the soundtrack.)
I'm also thinking that at some point Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons show up, but I'm just curious as to if it's one of their many singles, or if it's an album in whole.

Circus, somebody already got WHO's Next (great album!!)

MC5 The Big Bang! Best of the MC5.  These guys are not likely to be on there if STOOGES Fun House ain't... I have all three of their albums, but this is all the best of those, plus awesome uncollected kickass singles.

There are so many recordings of these Jazz tunes, it's anybody's guess what might be the best or even how many there are, but they must be included:
DIZZY GILLESPIE "Groovin' High"
CHARLIE PARKER QUINTET "Scrapple from the Apple"
COLEMAN HAWKINS "Body And Soul"
DUKE ELLINGTON ORCHESTRA "Take The 'A' Train"
LOUIS ARMSTRONG and HIS HOT FIVE "West End Blues"

MODERN JAZZ QUARTET Django

THE STOOGES Raw Power

Hey, REV, aren't ya glad you started this thread?   Wink

I dunno.  If MC5 isn't on the list, I'd be kinda shocked, and not shocked at the same time.  I don't know what the criteria is for picking the list, IE: Importance, influence, etc, or if it's just 'fun to listen to.'  Either way, if it's based off influence, and Public Enemy made it (which they should've, rightly so), then MC5 certainly should be on the list.
