DARK PASSAGE (1947) on TCM tonight 11pm EST.  Starring HUMPHREY BOGART and LAUREN BACALL, this unusual flick also includes a stunning climax with AGNES MOOREHEAD taking one of the best swan dives in Hollywood history!

Its a good movie, they don't make em like that anymore. I really liked the first person camera bit again, its really unique. And its not a shaky cam thing either.

Mmmm... it's not unique... ROBERT MONTGOMERY in LADY IN THE LAKE has that same subjective camera angle, and they're both 1947... it illustrates how ideas in the mainstream are cherrypicked by good writers with imaginations.     Still true today with the dual remakes or similar character/storylines (such as the year A STIR OF ECHOES and THE SIXTH SENSE came out (1999).  The superior film was overlooked.)
I think DARK PASSAGE is ridiculous, implausible, corny, and irreplaceable.  A true masterpiece of Noir melodrama.  I always enjoy seeing BOGEY and BACALL on screen... and this is a weird one!!  Tell me that AGNES MOOREHEAD swandive isn't the height of schlock cinema?

Thanks for the info Allhallows, I've never seen any of these films. Sounds like their worth a look. Corny as it is this is what really drew me into watching older movies.

True very True. You'll have to forgive me when I first saw the film 10 years ago I thought it was one of the best i've ever seen. Looking back I realise how corny it could be though ,still haven't gotten over holding it in such high regard I guess.

I also hold it in high regard, it's a great picture.  I can recognize the flaws, shortcomings and/or creaks in something and still enjoy or admire it.  We are on Badmovies.org afterall.
