I've been buying the excellent, chronological Three Stooges boxed sets ever sionce they started releasing them.  Today, the newly-released volume 7 arrived in the mail and I was pleasantly surprised to see that:

* Some of the episodes are in widescreen (first time in this format since their original theatrical releases)

*SPOOKS! and PARDON MY BACKFIRE are in both 3-D and 2-D

This is Stooge heaven!

I'm thinking about getting these, but I really don't care to have anything done after 1946 when Curley was no longer able to perform.  Most of the shorts after that were just remakes of the ones Curley was originally in.  Shemp is a just okay substitute and Joe Besser was contract player forced on Moe and Larry.  Curly Joe DeRita  was at least picked by Larry and Moe.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

I agree that the Curly episodes are superior to the others.  But I'm going for the entire collection anyway.  The audio and video quality is excellent.

I am one of the few Shemp is better than Curly fans out there.
After all He was the original Third Stooge!
So I love this set of course.
And when he shall die
Take him and cut him into little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun.
