bottom line: Bette Davis isn't very pretty. She is a good actress but she resembles a chihuahua, thus her being cast as a temptress is ridiculous.  This role would have been perfect for Marilyn Monroe and you would have heard of this movie if she had been cast in this role.  Instead this is something you'd see on TCM and, if you are anything like me, most likely not watch. If you HAVE to watch it because you rented it it's not bad.  Bette Davis steals her sisters husband ( her sister: the much prettier Olivia Havilland) and ALL the wealthy and or good looking men in the movie are obsessed with her and throw great piles of money at her including her own uncle (yuck!)  tragedy strikes , Davis goes into melodramatic overdrive, and it's all very Lifetimey and not without it's share of tension if not particularly profound on any level. next
