I just watched this for the first time last night and my eyes are still paralyzed from seeing this wretched pile. What were they thinking. I just cant understand why they would name wookies lumpy and itchy. watch if you dare.  happy life day

Hahahaha!  I'm going to be reposting that review from the archives on Wednesday night.  A snippet from that article, because I think it sums things up nicely:

QuoteIt should also be noted that, since wookies are the main characters, you spend a lot of time listening to Chewbacca's family talking amongst themselves. Which ends up meaning, "WGGGGGHHHHHHTTTT!" (Or however you spell that.) Anyway, this is not a good way to keep anyone's attention.

from wikipedia
QuoteGeorge Lucas himself has rarely commented on or even acknowledged its existence, except to friends and co-workers. He is thought to hold a low opinion of it. For instance, Tom Burman, one of the costume designers for the holiday special, has said that Lucas once told him that he was very disappointed with the final product.

At one Australian fan convention he reportedly said[2] "If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every copy of that show and smash it." In an online chat with fans, he reportedly said: "The holiday special does not represent my vision for Star Wars." In an interview with Maxim magazine in May 2002, Maxim asked the question, "Any plans for a Special Edition of the Holiday Special?" Lucas responded with "Right. That's one of those things that happened, and I just have to live with it."

That was me:

QuoteYears ago, at a convention, I had the opportunity to interrogate a Lucasfilm spokesman (I think it was George's second in command) about this cinematic holocaust. They were allowing members of the audience to ask questions and providence placed me directly behind a young man who asked if the rest of the "Star Wars" films were going to be released on DVD. The spokesman replied, "Yes." So, when I got to the microphone, I pressed him with, "So, all of the films will be released on DVD?" "Yes, all of the movies will eventually be released." To which I delightfully responded, "Including the 'Star Wars Holiday Special?'" The man's face became very angry and he growled into the mic, "Not on your life." One of the convention toadies then escorted me away from the microphone.

I had a friend of mine make me a bootleg DVD of it. It is horrible and proof there are worse things in the Star Wars Universe than Jar-Jar Binks. A website I visit that is devoted to writting caption had pictures form The Star Wars Holiday Special a couple of years ago. If you want to see the pictures and captions people made about it you can go to http://glitterrock.org/ys0085.html. Tehya re on pages 85 - 95.
Movie Trivia Fact : O.J. Simpson was considered for the title role in The Terminator, but producers feared he was \"too nice\" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer.<br />Isn\'t hindsight great.<br />A person is smart. hehehehehehehehehe....

You'll never get it unless you were young and seen it on TV...

Reguardless what George Lucas say/think... The fact is: The Star Wars Christmas Special was design to snag christmas ratings (Oh how can you not watch a Star Wars Christmas Special when people has seen the 1977 flick more then once) and get us little boys (and sometimes little girls) to ask Santa for more Star Wars Toys... :)

Also... George Lucas decided write his "script" for the toy market... The Ewok was designed to get the little girls to buy into the Star Wars toys...

This stinky cinematic suppository can be found via torrent, etc.  I have an MP4 of it that I downloaded one day... JUST TO HAVE IT, as you all can very well understand.  I have watched most of it in pieces.   It's pretty hard to watch all of it straight.

To paraphrase Dr. Cox -- it's unbelie-he-he-he-HEE-vuhbly bad.

I just sat through watching the Nostalgia Critic's review of it and I feel as if my brain was shutting down as he was talking about it.  I wish I could erase my mind of it like he was able to.

I told my friend about the special.  He is a gigantic Star Wars fan and watched it right away.  He siad it wasn't that bad as everyone said it was.  Was he watching even the right show?

I too just sat through Nostalgia Critic's review on it ...

I'm embarrassed for the Star Wars universe after watching it ...

OMG ... umm ... its bad .... really bad ... no ... really, not joking.

I watched this last year.  The mental scars are still healing.

I tried watching it last night, but fell asleep. :teddyr:  I'll try again tonight.  By the way, if anyone's interested, the full movie is on Google Videos.  (Not that I would advise illegally downloading or watching copyrighted material without paying for it.  But then again, George Lucas is denying it's existence, I doubt he would sue.)

I've never really seen the special. Is that a good thing?

It is a very good thing.  I've only seen a video review on it and it felt part of my own soul cracked.
