QuoteBERLIN — A seven-year-old boy was stopped by police in northern Germany while trying to plough snow with a front loader he borrowed from his parents' business, authorities said.

Officers on patrol found the boy atop the 3.5-metre-tall (11.5-foot-tall) excavator after he had cleared the street in the town of Reinfeld and was driving back to the parking lot.
The child noticed the police car behind him and stopped immediately.

"He opened the door, got out and admitted immediately that he did not have a driving licence," the police report said.

When asked why he had begun ploughing, he said his father had complained about the state of the roads. He saw the key in the ignition of the vehicle and set off.

yeah no.

Cute, even if illegal.  He must be tall for a seven-year-old.  It can be hard to sit and reach the controls for little guys.  But as for the driving: kids raised around tractors etc. often start early - and can be very good at it.  Give him full points for good intentions.

He probably did a better job than the crew who were working my workplaces city's roads.

All I can say to the city fathers and mothers is give that kid a JOB!

No, being an old farmboy myself, when I saw the subject heading, I didn't associate the story with a snow plow, but with a horse and plow on the farm, Which some farmers still use to plow the back forty.

That's pretty impressive, a 7-year-old kid operating a loader and actually getting the job done. I'm guessing that's not the first time he's been at the controls.
