We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I like Weird Al too, for a long time there was no one on this list I liked (half I'd never heard of, being an old guy ).

Weird Al is, hands down, my all time favorite artist.  I put him above a lot of others I like, including The Ramones, Misfits, Elvis, Beatles, Clash, and Johnny Cash.  Granted, not all others agree with it, but I think a lot of the music industry takes itself too seriously, so it's nice to see someone bringing some fun into it.  And, he puts on a hell of a live show.  3 hours of a great performance.  And, he's nice and approachable too.  I met some artists, and they were cold and impersonal, just grabbing what you wanted signed and not talking.  Al was gracious enough to take the time to take pictures with you, sign anything you wanted, and willing to discuss ANYTHING, not just his music.  He even comes out in the audience, sits on your lap, grabs your camera and takes a picture of himself on your lap, has you sing with him, etc.

I have to look up Blue Rodeo.  I don't recognize the name, but may know some songs.  You don't like Black Flag?

Yeah, somehow I had picked up that you liked Weird Al.

Here's Blue Rodeo's homepage.  There's lots of samples there.  They're Canadian.  Their biggest hit here was "Hasn't Hit Me Yet."

I don't like Black Flag or almost any punk music.  In high school I hung out with a lot of punks, but I couldn't stand most of the music.  I was into prog, which they hated.  We often tortured each other by playing albums we each hated.  We could sometimes compromise with David Bowie or Frank Zappa.

Hey I like both Black Flag and Blue Rodeo. Don't really terribly dislike any band on the list honestly.

Hmmm.  This is unsettling to me.  I quite like punk.  But, well, if you like Bowie and Zappa, I can overlook it.

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I made an exception for the Dead Milkmen, one of the few punk bands with a sense of humor.

Great band.  And, they're from my hometown, Philly.
