Every once in a while I love a good revenge film. Sometimes a film is identifiable as a reveng film, that is, it is a genre in and of itself. Other times, a film is horror/drama/action/etc., but also a revenge film, or has a strong revenge element to it. Revenge tales can appeal to our sense of justice in an unjust world, or provide a vicarious thrill for those seeking revenge in their own lives. Sometimes, revenge tales explore our darkest side. In any case, revenge tales are a staple of B cinema.
