Well this snowfall is beyond odd in my area.  We had a wintry mix about 3 PM until 6.  This caused the accumulation to be a slushy mix.  I shoveled that out of the way in no time. looking outside now it seems to be coming down a bit harder. however accumulation is still well below a foot I'd say.  I'm going out there in about 20 minutes.

I just came in from digging out.  Our driveway, walk, and cars are all done - as are the neighbors.  Between the earlier storm and this one it was an impressive amount of snow.  We have some drifts that are 4 feet tall, and quite a few that are around 3 feet in height.  Most everywhere has 18-24 inches of snow.  The kids love it, but it's a bit dangerous for Andy and Garrett, because the snow is so deep that they can get stuck.  Jenna is big enough to make it, though she is avoiding the big drifts.

My neighbor pulled his grill into the cul-de-sac, we put some beers in the snow, and made it a social afternoon.  Turned out to be a good time.  Shovel, rest and eat, shovel - repeat.

I've rarely seen so little snow here in rural Newfoundland as we've had this winter. We usually only gets 5-10 cm to a time when we do get it...years back 20-30 cm was pretty much the norm.

Here in Maine it's been one of the warmest winters we've had.. I think we've gotten about half of the snow that we usually get.

We had a good thaw today actually.  I didn't even have to shovel the deck today.

Here in Maryland we have gotten about 30 inches or more of snow. Fortunately it has been only slightly wet. The more dry and fluffy it is the easier it is to shovel. School has been canceled for this entire week. We usually have off Monday for Presidents Day but schools might open anyway.  It looks like school will be occuring.

Sounds good to me. I love the mental picture that I get of beers chilled in the snow.  :teddyr:

Well, Trevor. Do you want one of us to send you some snow? Of course, with the mails the way they are, it will more likely be ice water than snow by the time it gets to you.
