My favorite line from the article is The script is supposedly full of "hip" pop culture references for today's kids, like Bill and Ted worrying they're going to miss The Dark Knight
You just know that decision came from two image consultants who use the word "fly" and "dope-fresh" in front of studio execs who are all old white guys.

And seriously, why did they feel the need to change the name of the band? Wlyd Stallions sounds like a band that seriously wants to rock while Atomic Gorillas sounds like a novelty band.

Bill & Ted are such products of their time, that a remake is inherently a foolish idea. Just doesn't work.

Agreed. Hollywood is losing relevance every day. Personally I think Hollywood is doing it's "death rattle" before it starts going under as a provider of entertainment. I don't think filmmaking will go away, but I think we're soon on threshold of major changes, where the big movie companies will go the way of the dodo bird. If it goes down like I would hope, independent film companies may actually benefit from this. Bigtime A-list actors will be a thing of the past, and actors will have to go back to being actual artists, taking paycuts (but still making a very good living) and having to go to independent film companies to make movies. It probably won't go down like this, but I can dream, can't I? In all liklihood, everything will end up being owned by Viacom and EVERYTHING will go down the sh**hole.

Good point. Bill and ted are a VERY 90s-ish type a thing. Making them modern and ..."hip", .....well, it's just going to seem very out of it's element.
