Trevor

I have to confess ~ one of my reviews is going to be on another site..... one of the people behind the site www.horrordvds.com emailed me the other day and said that he had bought a copy of the 1968 SA film Dr Kalie in Durban. He loved it and wanted to review it for that site, letting their users know about obscure non horror films.

He wanted an SA input into the film and also from someone who praat die taal [speaks the language] as this film is about a 70% Afrikaans 30% English split.

The director Ivan Hall was a friend of mine ~ also the director of the great Kill and Kill Again ~ so this one's for you, Ivan.

Apologies?  It sounds more like we should be giving you congratulations, so congratulations!

Thanks Andrew, but here [Trevor points finger at www.badmovies.org onscreen, bruises finger and breaks nail  :buggedout: ] is where my reviews should be. I still owe Rev. Powell a review of Dust Devil and I'm trying to finish a review of Horror Express for you.

Mr. DS

If it helps Trev, I personally forgive you although I'm not involved.

Yeah Trev, for what I'm paying you I think I have a right to be outraged!

Seriously, no need for apology. If you want to volunteer your valuable time to lend a little class and credibility to my website, I couldn't really thank you enough.  I certainly couldn't be upset if you didn't, or if you wrote something for someone else!  No worries, mate.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Kidding, please let us know when it goes live, I'd like to read it if not in Afrakaans

So Trevor, when are you gonna write the definitive history of bad movies filmed in SA or by SA filmmakers?

If you need inspiration, find a copy of "Not Quite Hollywood" on DVD to see how they made a history of weird cinema into a badge of honor for Australia.

That has already been done, sir: it is a four hundred page thesis on the history of film in SA but no-one will touch it to publish it.  :bluesad:

I get visions of the films Turkey Shoot and Lady Stay Dead in my head here.  :teddyr:

Hmm.  Dust Devil is a review I've been interested in.  I've been interested in Richard Stanley's work since I first saw Hardware like 15 years ago.  I missed out on that awesome Dust Devil DVD set, think it's out of print now.

Looking forward to that review Trev.
