I'm not overly familiar with Sammartino, but considering he headlined Madison Square Garden 211 times with 187 sellouts, it warrants a vote.  Although, Stone Cold and The Rock were pretty damned entertaining.

Bruno was like the Hulk Hogan of his era but also had a certain ethnic appeal being an Italian hero. Bruno while he always played the straight and narrow as a face was a fantastic brawler and always really opened up on those he feuded with when it was seen as O.K. by the fans as "giving as good as was given him". I doubt any other wrestler will ever hold a World title for over 7 years straight and nearly 11 years in total.

Shoot, in today's era of wrestling, it's uncommon for a wrestler to even be with a company for 11 years, let alone hold a belt for more than 6 months.

That is until he turned heel and tried to save WCW, he actually had the chance to get in a free Stone Cold Stunner on Mr. McMahon. Basically, his popularity (to Me) went down when he didn't stun Mr. McMahon and instead, give him treats.
