You have to 'hand' it to him and not get 'rapped on the knuckles', this is a great guy indeed.

Thanks guys, but I'm already covered in the everybody appreciation thread.

Besides, no one here could possibly appreciate me as much as I appreciate myself.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Well fine then.   :tongueout:

Our irreverent reverend brings several comparisons to mind, but at the moment the one that stands out is The Cat Who Walked by Himself: if we speak words in his praise he will say, "But still I am the Cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me."

The Rev. is a smart man, quick witted, and a fine friend.  Too bad about that whole lawyer thing, but nobody's perfect  :teddyr:

The Rev is often inspiring me to dig back into my library for some Jazz, or Classical, bit... or gets me hunting for a used copy!   :teddyr:
The best part of the smart ass Rev is he's also considerate.

Rev. Powell - great, disturbing character played by Robert Mitchum.

Rev. Powell the poster - witty fellow with something usually interesting to say or add and a good mod. His thoughts on films are always a must-read too. Usually he seems pretty spot on in that regard.

Than you guys, I'm touched.  I'm blushing, in fact.

I'm so humble that I'm almost tempted to lock or delete this thread, but it would be selfish of me to deny you the opportunity to praise me.

Make sure you clean up after "appreciating yourself".

I have a feeling that Reverend Powell is just as clear-spoken and friendly in real-life as he is in online-life. Would you agree, Reverend?

I remember about when Reverend Powell started posting here, and I also remember very quickly thinking that the level of discussion on the forum has gone WAY WAY up.

Another one to keep you on your toes...

Notably, too, he posted some really cool dudes in the Top 100 Guitarists thread.   :teddyr:

Actually, in so-called real life I'm standoffish.... I've never had much enthusiasm for small talk, schmoozing, and networking.  I prefer a very small circle of loyal, close friends to a large number of acquaintances.  And I've always preferred the written word to the spoken word.  Far more control over what I say.
