Swamp Thing

This looks like a great throwback to the Universal Horror Films and Universal Monsters! R1 DVD on September 28.

QuoteFive strangers are invited to a castle under the pretense that one may inherit it. Little do they know what dangers await at the House of the Wolf Man.

Abby Arcane: Is there a Mrs. Swamp Thing?
Swamp Thing: No, I'm a bachelor.

This may be interesting...

I personally believe when people intend to make a bad movie on purpose it never becomes as funny as it could be. This movie is screaming intent; especially since its black and white and Ron Chaney.

Yeah, I agree.  It almost never works to purposefully make a "bad" movie.  There are exceptions, though.  ALIEN TRESPASS did a good job.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I'm looking forward to this one.

I didn't think it was possible to look like Bela Lugosi without actually being Bela Lugosi.  Great makeup job too.

Heh. From the poster it almost looks like Dracula is played by Michael Imperioli who played Christopher onThe Sopranos.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Seems interesting.  Just seems a little off, think it is the blonde actress.  She appears too modern for me.  Otherwise, great idea and worth a viewing.
Ah, the good old days.

It Looks Great .....But They've Probably Tried To "MODERNIZE" It And Made It Awful In Doing So

It has definitely gotten my interest.

I did a search on the movie, and from what I have read, this doesn't appear to have been intentionally made to be bad.  It is an attempt to create a third "House of" movie in the same style as the original 2 made by Universal in the 1940's.

Ron Chaney is the grandson of Lon Chaney Jr.

Most of the comments I found from people who have seen it are very favorable.  I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it for myself.

I finally watched this movie.  It has been waiting on my shelf for quite some time.  Overall, I liked it.  The sets, the look of the characters, and the soundtrack were very well done.  The movie really looks like it was made in the 40's.

I also think the story is quite good, and compares fairly well fairly well to the other Universal "House Of" movies.  The monster fight is great and a lot of fun, and Michael Thomas excels in the role of Dracula.

The movie does suffer from a lot of painfully stiff acting from nearly the whole cast, especially Ron Chaney, and I thought the ending was kind of unsatisfying.  With some better actors and a better wrap-up at the end, they could have hit this one out of the park.

Despite its flaws, I still think the movie has a cool vibe in the tradition of the monster movies of the 40's, and I give them an A+ for effort and fun.
