Stumbled across episode 1 - Halloween night 10pm - right?  I neglected to watch the 2nd episode this past Sunday, but I thought the premiere was very good!  I just can never remember to watch TV shows!!  :teddyr:

Episode 2 was pretty good (though the grossest by far) and our hero finds out, (as George Romero envisioned) that the living can be just as much of a problem (or worse) than the dead.  This is giving nothing away, but just a sideline issue to the real problem the hero is being set up for in episode 3. Episode 3 ain't gonna be pretty   :buggedout:
Nothing like hacking up a zombie and wiping it's blood and guts on your body to 'smell like death'. :buggedout:

Oh man, you ain't kiddin'!  That scene had me in dry heaves, and my wife actually got up and said, "Ill be upstairs watching normal TV."   :bouncegiggle:

This actually gets me about her, because she watches CSI (and the gore they have on that show) but something like TWD grosses her out.  There again autopsies are a bit more conventional (and orderly) than what happens on The Walking Dead, lol

I never seen CSI.  Then again, I don't watch much tv outside of a few shows.  They have gross stuff on it?

Yeah CSI shows autopsies and some fairly gross crime scenes from time to time.  Let's just say that some episodes are a crash coursein internal human anatomy.. :buggedout:

Minor spoiler ahead.

I'm getting ready to watch episode 3,  and to me the best comment on this series quality so far is that after ~2 hours of show (2.5 hours, minus commercials.) there has yet to be a single on screen death by zombie, and I'm still enjoying it. And honestly all I usually watch zombie movies for is to watch them munch on people.  I'm also shocked, repeatedly, at the degree of violence they are getting away with, providing its directed towards the zombies.

I suspect the death toll by zombie will change tonight.

Third episode was good.  Series really feels like it is building towards something, but there are only three episodes left...  I suspect this season will end very openly.  Second season is already confirmed for thirteen episodes though.

Love the series so far.  One thing though, it's a pity in the pilot ep we didn't see the horse rear up and kick a zombie right in the face!  That would have been cool.

(Course, I guess filming that might have been a bit problematic.)

I have to admit, I was surprised when at the end of the episode, they showed the zombie munching on the horse guts!  I mean, they'd already established the horse had been taken down and killed without them showing much gore, so the "Oh, yeah, we forgot to show you this!" scene at the end took me by surprise.

It is rather gory for a tv show.  I like that though. :buggedout:

Yeah, the tension is slowly building among the survivors. I think the one cop is gonna go off big time (like he did in episode 3, but only worse.) I don't think everyone is going to survive, and that there will be some permanent changes in whoever does. This should be interesting to say the least.

I'm nearly current on the comic (I'm one or two issues behind), and I am curious if they're going to try sticking to the comic in parallel or just not at all?  It's already diverged A LOT from the comics, so I'm pretty curious.  I will say if the show is like the comics, don't get too attached to any characters...  No one is safe at any time in the comics (I think there's like three or four characters left of the 15-20 introduced in the first twentyish issues).  And the horrors and experiences the characters go through change others so much they're not really the same characters any longer.

There's one character I'm pretty sure will die this season, as the character did in the comics around that time, but time will tell on that one.

What I'm wondering is if he ever gets his walkie talkie and re-connects with the father and son he left behind.
