NES - Smash TV.  I think I beat that game 4 or 5 times.  The first time I got to the final level, I was so excited I had to stop and crack open a beer to calm my nerves.

PS1 - Fear Effect 2:  Retro Helix.  Huge game with tons of different environments and really great characters.

PS2 - Drakan the Ancient Gates.  Must have played through that at least a half-dozen times.  Also Gran Turismo 4, I spent about 6 months with that game and I was still finding exciting new things to do.  Also Project Snowblind, my favorite shooter of all time.

PS3 - Dead Space.  Two of my favorite movies are Alien and Aliens, and Dead Space is very much in the same vein.  Absolutely loved it.  And the sequel is coming out in January I believe.  Need For Speed Shift is another fav'e, spent months with it.  Tons of technical bugs, but the core gameplay is an absolute blast.

Half Life - By far one of the greatest games of all time.  Interesting story, decent character work, and a revolutionary design.  No levels, no cutscenes, just a straightforward adventure that was more genius than anything that came before.  I love the games so much that my next tattoo is actually dedicated to it.

Duke Nukem - Badassery all around.  Duke was an awesome overly macho character.  The humor in this game was fantastic and fresh.  2K Games actually announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be out next year, with a playable demo at PAX.  I = excited.

Unreal Tournament - Many many hours have been spent by me playing this at LAN parties.  The series kind of lost focus over the years and got back to what was fun with UT3.  Good times.

Grand Theft Auto - I've been a fan since SCI released the original GTA.  I loved the humor, the frantic pace and story.  GTA3 took things to a whole new level and introduced the world to sandbox gaming.  GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas are my two personal favorites.

Deus Ex/System Shock/Bioshock - All of these are along the same lines for me.  Fantastic FPS games, each with a layered story and RPG elements.  Each are ones that everyone should play.

Carmageddon - Another gem of SCI's mid 90s PC gaming days.  Plot?  Race, kill your opponents, and run over citizens for extra points.  Throw in a soundtrack completely by Fear Factory and insane powerups.  Damn I miss it.

I'm going to toss in an honerable mention.  Shadow of the Colosses

Really interesting game. Beautifully designed.

Great game, but I felt it had little replay value.  Yes, there were additional items to collect, and a hidden area that could only be found after playing the game a few times.  But this SOTC was really more of a puzzle game then an adventure game.  And once you know the answer to the puzzles, the game loses some of what made it fun.
