MACHETE is the best movie I've seen to hit theatres this year.

The Burgomaster

I plan to see several movies before the end of the year and I suspect one of them might be my nominee.  I'll return after I see them . . .

Scott Pilgrim probably gets my nomination although some notables for movies I really enjoyed:

Toy Story 3 [Any film that is known for making grown men cry should get a mention]
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo [or was that last year?]
Hot Tub Time Machine [ok its not the best, but so far it was the funniest]
Monsters [a surprisingly good, low budget, high concept alien invasion film]
Predators [again, I just enjoyed the hell out of it, though its never going to win major awards!]
Book Of Eli [was surprised by how much I liked this one]
Daybreakers [I am just a sucker for Sci-fi vampire films]

Hurry up, I'm closing nominations Dec 24!  I'm seeing BLACK SWAN this week, then I'll decide whether it deserves a nomination.

Dean: SCOTT PILGRIM is an interesting choice.  I'm still surprised there wasn't more talk about that one on these boards.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Well it was the most creative/original I've seen all year and I loved it terribly.  But as it is it's one of those sort divisive films that people either love or hate.  And yeah I'm surprised it didn't get more mileage on this board as well.

Pilgermann

Waiting to see True Grit, Black Swan, and Social Network.  Guess I'm running out of time!
