I thought about putting this in the Worst Sequal ever made topic, then in the worst MOVIE ever made topic, but I felt its badness really needed a topic all to itself.

For those that don't know it, the movie is about to murderers who host a pirate TV show where they show homemade snuff films and videos their viewers sent in.  That's the plot of the movie.  Short videos of people being murdered.  It's like an unfunny comedy show where the punchline is always "and then somebody is gruesomely killed."   There's no heroes here.  No likable characters.  No ... logic.

See, the people doing the show haven't been stopped because nobody can figure out where they broadcast from, yet people are sending them clips and they have advertisers.

For a few brief minutes at the very end of the movie, they actually tease you with the protagonists that were killed in the first Video Violence coming back for revenge, but that turns out to be a joke somebody was playing.  Aww, movie, you almost had a plot and sympathetic characters and then you blew it.

Then they follow that up with somebody that blows even the most gullible persons suspension of believe right out the water... and then sets fire to it.  These pirate TV snuff show artists have gotten a deal to take their show to Hollywood!

So, anybody else here seen this abomination?

The Video Violence movies are ones I always saw on the shelf of every VHS video store I ever entered, yet never rented.  Nor did anyone else ever rent them, they were always on the shelf, gathering dust.

I rented them.

...and I like the Video Violence movies. But then again, I'm sorta an 80's SOV completest, and I judge them on different criteria than something like Friday the 13th (for example). Oh hell, I just like bad movies and I'll leave it at that.  :bouncegiggle:

I have one of the Video Violence movies in my VHS collection, in its original "big box".  I've never watched it.

There are a lot of tapes I have that I never got around to watching.  For a while there in the late 90s-early 00s, I was buying old tapes like mad, mostly so I would have them and they wouldn't be "lost" forever as stores cleared them out to make way for DVDs.

Haha, I kinda did the same thing. Hollywood Video was liquidating their VHS tapes for like $0.50 each. I swooped in there like a bird of prey and filled up about 4 cardboard boxes full.
