You're lucky, sounds like fun!

As for me, I have a mess of things to do tonight and tomorrow. I wish I was going.
I'm like 25 mins away from Asbury Park.

Have fun, Allhallows.

Mr. DS

I think they have this in Providence and I've been meaning to get around to it.

Most of the shows I saw were from Indiana....I live close to the border...called Michiana...

Got back and must report in our politically correct world that the beloved brutality () of Roller Derby is not what it was back in the day.  Though the players had names like Anna B. Brutal, they weren't.  After an exceedingly long intro with the state police bagpipes, an introduction of all of the players (and there were many) and a turgid rendition of the national anthem, the game started after 40 minutes...    Still fun, but, not what it had been... it's really just women roller skating (though there were a few nods to the old days with fishnet stockings and perky derrieres) I am ashamed I missed the hair pulls, elbow knocks, smack downs, etc.   :bluesad:

Now this is Roller Derby:

Thats sad to hear the violence isn't what it used to be since that is what made Roller Derbies fun.  I recall catching Roller Derbies in the 80s early in the morning.  It was a fun time.

I recall it being very popular back in the 1980s during the height of pro rasslin popularity too. It often seemed to be advertised on TV rasslin' shows and often at times seems to come on not long after that. Recall enjoying it in my teenage days.

This is a test to illustrate editing thread titles, and in this thread's case, adding a post, "updating" in order to make it apparent.
