I know there is much animosity for this film. Yeah,everyone hates Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN remake (I like it-the white trash begining at least) but I think the DEVIL'S REJECTS is a classic. Scary,honest,and dam funny at times. I think it's hated because of it's warped black humor. How dare they mix mass murder and sick humor? Bulls**t. It's a great film-and renewed my faith in Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Whats really f**ked-the killers are personable-you almost-almost forget the horrifying acts they commit-because in between they seem like everyday folks. And I think that is the power of this film.

I personally love this film (although I do like The House Of A Thousand Corpses more). I think its the perfect mix of nastiness and hilarity.

I didn't mind the Halloween re-make either, but it didn't need to be done. if anyone was going to do it though, I'm glad it was him.

I wasn't really interested in watching this. I liked House of a 1000 Corpses, mostly because I thought Captain Spaulding was hilarious. Sid Haig is a revelation of filth.

Anyway, I read a couple interviews with Rob Zombie where he stated his intention to reintroduce sleaze back into American cinema. I'm a big fan of sleaze, so I signed up.

I loved The Devil's Rejects. A sleazy good time. No real redeeming qualities, just unpleasant people doing unpleasant things to other people. I can understand why people don't like it, but I don't really care. A complete throwback to '70s horror, I liked it quite a bit.

I really enjoyed HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS.  I seem to be in the minority on both counts, but I felt like I was back at the drive-in around 1975 when I was watching them.

I understand that some people really like this movie. I didn't care for it. My score so far of Rob Zombie's work:

House of 1,000 Corpses (liked it)
The Devils Rejects (didn't care for it)
Halloween (liked it)
Halloween II (disliked it immensely)
The Haunted World of El Super Beasto (couldn't get into it)

I am somewhat interested in seeing his upcoming The Lords of Salem, mostly because he hasn't done much with supernatural horror. It was a much bigger element of his music and I would like to see what he does with it on film.

I preferred HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, which is more of a "so-bad-it's-good" movie.  I agree with AHD, REJECTS is just mean-spirited and cruel and no fun for me.  I'm not really interested in anything else Zombie has to offer at this point.

i liked the devils rejects.  good mix of dark humor and horror. i also liked the mix of vetern actors playing small parts.

I like dark humor, but for whatever reason it just didn't make me laugh. I was never able to quite put my finger on it because I liked House of 1,000 Corpses, which is just over-the-top and a lot of fun, whereas The Devil's Rejects just didn't entertain me. I think AHD and Rev might have something there.

I don't know. To each their own. My wife has always been a Rob Zombie fan, and as such she tends to be more forgiving of his film work than I am. For example. I can't stand Zombie's Halloween 2. She accepts that it is not that great a movie, but she can still watch it whereas I cannot, and part of it is the fandom. I don't begrudge that at all. I love David Lynch, so I am going to be more able to appreciate Inland Empire than most, I suppose.

I didn't like "House of 1000 corpses" much, although I admit it was very inventive for a slasher, but I loved this one. That Zombie was clever enough to make a Perckinpah-style modern western starring all those psychos is pretty much why.

Didn't care much about the "Halloween" remakes Zombie did after this, I think that he has lost his way and that it's sort of sad.

I have seen both of the movies.  I personally liked Devils Rejects better.  It was more believable.  At the end I was able to connect with the trio of terror.  I almost felt sorry for them.  The movie was good.  Not something you take your wife to see.  (I had her watch House of a 1000 corpses and she did not like me for a couple of days).

I would give this move 6 out of 10.

On a side note, for the House of 1000 corpses, I wish that they did more with Dr. Satan and his lair.  It was a good side story.

At the end I was able to connect with the trio of terror.  I almost felt sorry for them. 

That's what made me actually hate the film: manipulating the audience so they sympathize with the serial killers.  It was well done, but obnoxious.

I like Rob Zombie's films a little while after I've watched them. Because when I watch his villians I become so angry. He really knows how to create unsympathetic evil bullies. And a good film should bring out those emotions. You know what your getting into with a Rob Zombie movie. It's not gonna be a fun ride. It's gonna be nasty and tragic and make you feel violated a little bit. Rob Zombie is a genius at making true horror films. I didn't like the second "Halloween" that he did, because it was a little too trippy for my taste. But that's just apples and oranges. "Devil's Rejects" will make you angry the first time you see it, but afterwords you feel like "Wow, that seemed so real, what a great movie!"

I quite liked Devils Rejects.  Like all of Zombie's films, really.  Great job directing the sleazy, white trashy, serial killer type of exploitation flick.  Not insanely original, but feel they're better than most horror flicks getting produced nowadays.

Not seen it.  Barely got through House of 1000 Corpses (I wouldn't have gotten through had I not been watching with my girlfriend at the time), and it took me three tries to get through Halloween 2.  I doubt I'll see any more Rob Zombie movies.
