There's some Christian organization here in Arizona putting up billboards everywhere saying that May 21st is Judgement Day. They seem very, very convince of this. I'm wondering if this is a local phenomenon, or if this is happening around the rest of the country.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

I saw something posted about this somewhere online.  Maybe Facebook.  I haven't lost any sleep over it yet.

Well they better rearrange that, I have plans.

Here is the logic, sorry about the unprofessional reference.  Seems pretty slim if you ask me.

If I start preaching my atheist ideals and inform everyone what I think of Christianity and this "Judgment Day" crap will I get bad karma?

Psycho Circus

Once May 21st rolls round and there's no big booming voice from the sky or people being burnt to a crisp because they watch internet porn, all the heretics will simply conjure up a new date.

Not if you do it in a way that's adult and respectful of other's beliefs. But it's a dangerous area and I'm sure Andrew would prefer people not get into religious arguments on his bad movies board.

I agree with rev.  You have nicely made your dislike known and no flames are ensuing.  A tirade won't do much mor.e

I know I probably invited it with the topic, I was mainly just curious if this was local or more widespread.

I researched it further are found that there is a guy responsible for it who made the same prediction in 1994, and when it didn't come to pass he said he had miscalculated.

I'll quote The Chuch Lady: How convenient.

I think it is widespread. Over in NYC I saw a billboard of May 21 Judgement day and this first thought that came to mind was "How can this person afford a billboard"? I thought only homeless people can predict doomsday in New York

Some Christian organizations do quite well financially.
