I like PURPLE RAIN but UNDER A CHERRY MOON seems a bit convoluted to me. Prince seems to be acting like Morris Day and even has Jerome on hand. Why not just cast Morris? It's like a bad trip without actually being high. I'm no expert on Prince, it's not my cup of tea. But at least Purple Rain had a strong story and likeable character's which this movie lacks in my opinion.
