A f#cking hippy.
Except I don't smoke pot (too often-inna blue moon-)
I dont give a good Sammy Davis Jr. (my new name for Gawd) if the ozone is gone and we all end up in a new Ice Age.I think it's groovy.
But my hair has gotton way beyond long, and the neighbor girl said I look like Ozzy Osbourne. Cuz my prescription glasses are green tinted Buddy Holly looking.
And I am interested in UFO's and the paranormal .
I DONT believe astrology-which is a real artform-can predicyt your life.
I think the religion of Pagan's is more honest than Christianity-but I dont take to heart what they say either.
I believe in cause and effect.
And I cant have the balls  to have the balls to say "This is how it is." Because-in the long run-we're just guessing.
I believe in...I believe...I'll have another drink.

How retro of you. People these days morph into trendy Biebers or Gagas.

Not your cup of tea? Here are a few morphing suggestions:

The white urban rap hood gangsta (you'll need Bling fashion and thug life attitude though)
The MMA dude (you'll need fightgear MMA lifestyle clothing)
Juggalo (get down wit da clownz. Them Jugalettes are wicked too)

Im getting old-
I find my attitude going hippy.
I think mellow is good.
Except I have a very violent mind-so it's a Jekyll and Hyde battle.

My bad. I guess I sort of misread your first post.

I'm trying to retain my Peter Pan/Pee-wee Herrman attitude as I get older. I wanna hold on to my inner child as long as possible.

Great JIMI clip... thanks!!  I modeled myself after the hippies, though I was quite a bit later... when I graduated high school, I was 17 and that was year...

Well, we're close...   The Punks denigrated the hippies, but that was mostly "bravado".  The "hippie" was the 1966 version of a "Mod" and despite denigration and contemporaneous attempts to bury it, the term, "hippie" has stayed with us.  It was a fashion term that should have bit the dust in 1967, but became synonymous with "unkempt" appearance, "droning" "acid" Rock, fleas, long hair, peace symbols and dirty feet.  Did I mention drugs?  It's a label.  At times, extremely useful, but like a***oles, everybody's got one and they all stink.
The hippie message was to humble yourself.  An ancient idea, kind of Christian too.   I believe in humbling oneself.

Did you even read the original post?

So how will you act at 50?
Where will you be?
You might be where I am-confused-I usta be sure of my belief-but the longer I live-the more I see that organized religion is bulls**t, I'm sick and tired of war-I think dropping the A Bomb on Hiroshima was murder-(but Im a big fan of Oppenhiemer-go figure)-.
I dont know what to say.
Im getting old.
And I like it!

'Punk' rockers-by nature-rebel against the old.
But there old too now.
And dont 'get' t he crap that makes kids happy now.
You know who's side Im on.
I dont get new music, fashion, or wtf.
I liked punk and metal cuz the music spoke to me. My hair was long then cuz I dont feel like cutting i. Same reason now.
And I still love punk and metal.
But I just aint as crazy as I was. Cuz I dont wanna die.
You can continue a f**ked up lifestyle for so long-as a piece of white trash geek-I did lotsa drugs-been in jail over 30 times since a kid-but its time for me to mellow out.
I dont wanna be crazy. Whats so wrong with that?

Yer a mellow guy, RC.
It's funny - I believe in a lot of things you don't.
I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
I believe it is more honorable to fight for one's freedom than to surrender to tyranny.
I believe the Bomb saved more lives than it took.
and I believe that our political system still can work sometimes.

But I also believe that you are one mellow, cool dude, and though I don't drink alcohol, I just took a swig of my soda in your honor.

Cheers!

RC, I have been accused for being a closet hippie, so I do understand... Thjough I'm keeping it hidden well, aside from a lingering need to live in a dome.

And Indy, you reminded me again, that people with very different opinions and ideas can actually work together if they just use their heads and make judgments bassed on whats there, not what they are told by...whomever.  It refills my dwindling sense of faith in humanity.  Social-view-wise (sorry, can'tthinkof the word)  and politically, I'm far from both you and RC, but I like and respect you both very much.
