Sister Grace (bless her heart) sent me this dvd-a bio pic about Crash Darby and the Germs.
For those unfamiliar with the subject, the Germs were a seminal L.A. punk band from the late 70's,whose lead singer,Darby Crash, basically crashed and burned.
Now I'm a big fan of the Germs, so I was very wary going into this film. I shouldn't have been. The acting is good, and the music is spot on. One scene is exact dead on copy of the clip in the DECLINCE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION of the Germs doing 'Manimal'. Germs guitarest Pat Smear was a consultant on the film.
Anyone with even a passing interest in the old punk scene of the 70's and early 80's needs to see this. Even if you don't-it's still a fascinating look at self destruction.
Highly recommended!

I've been meaning to check this out. I'm not a big fan of The Germs either, but Darby Crash was a fascinating persona in that trainwreck sort of way.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

It's amazing how tight that album is as opposed to the live show.

Yer right.
Fact is-Darby was usually so s**t-faced live he could barley walk.

the real Germs-live.
