Swamp Thing

Looking for Ninja movies from the 80s-now. Please don't worry about the Godfrey Ho ones as that to me is a completely seperate genre!

Please list the ones you know of

So far I have seen:

American Ninja (the whole series)
3 Ninjas (the series)
Revenge of the Ninja
Lethal Ninja
Surf Ninjas
Ninja
Ninja Assassin
Mask of the Ninja

Please don't list movies like Kickboxer because they are not what I'm after. Just NINJAS! Cheers!

Swamp Thing: No, I'm a bachelor.

You can't go wrong with anything from Sho Kosugi or Godfrey Ho.

Ninja 3 The Domination was going to be my suggestion as well.  Some of those ninja vs. police dept. fights are just (unintentional) comic genius   :teddyr:

All of the ninja flicks I know of are Asian (once you go Asian you'll forget about caucasion). I've never seen one that I've taken seriously though. They're all unintentionally funny. If you like badly made ones check out THE SUPER NINJA, it's on youtube.

Enter The Ninja - 1981 movie with Franco Nero, and I believe the first ninja movie with Sho Kosugi.  It's the first movie in the loosely-related Golan Globus ninja trilogy, of which Revenge of the Ninja and Ninja 3 The Domination are a part.

Pray For Death - utterly horrible 1985 movie with Sho Kosugi.  I flush better things down the toilet after a big night's curry.  Only see if you want the entire Sho Kosugi experience.

Nine Deaths of the Ninja - another Sho Kosugi flick which is almost, but not quite as bad as, Pray For Death.  Nine Deaths is a much more cheesy/campy movie, whereas Pray is just gritty and awful.

The Master - 80's TV series starring Lee Van Cleef as an occidental ninjutsu master who takes on a young man as his recalcitrant apprentice.  Sho Kosugi was in at least one or two episodes, and he choreographed the fight scenes for this short lived but quite satisfying series.  I think Soon Tek-Oh makes an appearance in another episode.

Long live the 80's ninja movies!!!

For pain, watch Pocket Ninjas, it's like watching a training montage...wait, it is a montage.
yeah no.

Swamp Thing

I like cheesy/campy, but I don't like plain bad! Haha!

I used to hire this one back in the day, it's a campy teen Ninja flick from the Phillipines dubbed in English called Ninja Kids: Phantom Force (in Australian the VHS was called Ninja Kids & The Samurai Sword)

And I found another one which I'll track down: The Last Ninja (1983) which was a TV movie that looks fun!

The Last Ninja looks too cool.  Must see if I can get that one.

I just remembered another from the 80's ninja craze.  The Ninja Mission (1984) from Sweden!!!  Back in the 80's I vaguely remember that an actual instructor of Bujinkan Ninjutsu was either in it or a consultant for it.

Yes, now I remember.  The real ninjutsu instructor was Bo Munthe.  Not sure what he did in that movie.

And the lead actor passed away just this year.  Here is a touching tribute to him.

This one isn't quite as wacky as most.

Pretty much everything I could think of has been mentioned or already seen by you. Maybe not up your alley or what your particularly looking for but if you dig Ninja's and you like anmie you might want to check out Ninja Scroll if you haven't already.

I also dug these two chuck norris semi ninja themed films The Octagon (1980) and An Eye for an Eye (1981).

You know, I've never seen a Godfrey Ho ninja movie.  I watched a few clips on youtube, and I'm amazed at how these guys have headbands with NINJA proudly emblazoned on them.  It's like Godfrey is making absolutely sure you know what they are.  Or maybe so HE remembers what they are, amidst the pastiche of stuff he throws together!  :teddyr:

Going to watch a few ninja movies now.  Maybe start with a bit of the Wachowski ninja movie, then a bit of Scott Adkins, and then finish with some truly epic ninja goodness from Revenge of the Ninja.  Sho Kosugi was the king.
