Offended by ... movies

A former good online friend of mine would sometimes viciously bash and bad mouth a otherwise perfectly fine movie. Her reason why she disliked a certain movie always seemed far fetched, and in some cases even ridiculous as she would never point out her real issues.
Over the years I found out that she is a "closet" feminist, a patriot, a vegan and a member of PETA.
Nothing wrong with that I guess but it was kind of sad to see how she let those things interfere with her movie watching. She had a personal black list of movies that included:

Any form of discrimination/violence against women.
Exploitation of women.
Explicit sexuality and language.
Anything porn related.
Anything rape related.
Vegan jokes (no kidding).
PETA jokes.
Bashing of or making fun of the U.S. Military.
Anything Brian DePalma.
Anything Eli Roth (Because of 'Hostel').
Anything Christian Bale (Because of 'American Psycho').
Anything Jack Nicholson (Because of 'The Shining').

Rather ironic since she is a huge fan of horror movies, bad movies and exploitation movies.

I'm never offended by anything except when it comes to real animal violence ("Cannibal Holocaust" etc.). Even then I just cover my eyes until said scene is over.

Are you easily offended by movies? Do you bash a otherwise perfectly fine movie because one scene didn't rub you the right way?

I occasionally find some movies offensive, but even then, if they are a talented piece of work, I can acknowledge that they are well, even if I don't like them.
Patently anti-Christian stuff offends me.  Not necessarily making fun of Christians - we do plenty of that ourselves - but attacks on Christ Himself, or the vicious, vituperative anti-Christian stereotyping that comes out of Hollywood a lot.  Especially when they attempt to rewrite history in a blatantly anti-Christian manner (I'm looking at you, DA VINCI CODE!).
Or movies like LAND OF THE LOST, that take a whimsical, innocent children's series from my youth and use it for toilet paper.  Curse you, Will Ferrell!
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

Psycho Circus

I don't like to see incest or anything that pokes fun at serious illness (HIV/Cancer) in a crude way, but other than that, nothing really offends me. I've seen explicit sex, extreme violence and excessive gore and I'm pretty much desensitized. At the end of the day, nothing should really offend anyone about a movie, because...."drumroll"......it's just a movie. It's only something that's been dreamt up and created by a minority of people. If you don't like something, then just stop watching. Plus, if there is certain content within a movie that bothers you say, due to religious/political (etc.) beliefs it would be really silly to get all up-in-arms over it, as it probably doesn't offend someone else of similar views/beliefs and will not offend someone of completely different views/beliefs. It all depends on the person. Watching a movie shouldn't change you as a person, so there's nothing at all to be truly offended by or be loath to. Just turn over, switch off, eject....

Honestly nothing really offends me at all. I usually remember something is just a movie before it angers me in any way.

Now if a movie sucks, then it does offend me!

Any sort of violence against animals, that just turns my stomach.  If it's CGI of course that doesn't bother me, but these zero budget things where they're actually killing real animals just because they're desperate to add some shock value to their pathetic little video - forget it.  Instant eject.

Any sort of political preaching.  If I want to listen to that rubbish I'll tune into C-SPAN.  And it's always this unrealistic, oversimplified nonsense, like some little 9 year old kid watched a politician give a speech on TV and they said they could solve ALL the world's problems.  Gee daddy, we should vote for him!  Good grief.  The fact that I know about 1,000 times more about the political complexities of the nation and the world in general than your average movie maker just makes it revolting.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

I was highly offended by the movie "Gamer". The entire thing turned out to be anti-video game propaganda. I've been gaming since I was four so you can imagine I was incredibly p**sed. It demonized one of my favorite pastimes and depicted "gamers" as sick, sadistic, and immature. I am never trying a Mark Neveldine movie ever again; I've had enough of that s**t-head.

The Burgomaster

I don't think any movie's content has ever offended me.  However, I may get offended if a movie is so needlessly awful that it insults my intelligence.

Violence towards kids bugs me but it truly depends on the kids in the movie.

What do you mean? If there was some moral behind the whole story, you're right; I didn't see it. All I saw was the bashing of gaming and internet culture.

The only time I get really offended is material that is against a person or group who can't defend themselves. That's about it. Children are not fully able to defend themselves, and so I think they should be left alone by adults. They have enough to deal with given how cruel their kid peers can be sometimes. There was a time when kids were supposed to be able to trust adults. So, basically anybody who f**ks with or harasses kids I want to beat to a pulp.

Aside from that, if the person or group has a voice and the ability to defend themselves, bring it on.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Ed, Ego and Superego

I will not watch anything that depicts rape in a detailed manner.

As for mor eminor dislikes, I hate it when you can just tell a director (or writer of books) just plain does not like nor care about their characters.   If you can't bother liking them, or at least understanding them, don't bother making the art.

Anti-Christian themes or actions
Animal Cruelty
Smart @#%&! children making adults looks stupid
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

Very little offends me. If I let things offend me, I'd have a VERY tough life to live, since in my work I'm subject to petty, baseless ridicule constantly, and it means NOTHING. I just simply don't find much very offensive.

The closest I've been to being offended in recent memory was watching "Harry Knuckles and the Pearl Necklace" and realizing there was not one single frame of nudity. That title spells out T&A flick no matter how you read it. It was like renting a movie called "Debbie does Dallas AGAIN", and there being no nudity.

I get offended about the college humour type stuff because of how a 'typical' college guy only thinks about sex, beer, drugs, and more sex. And these movies are usually at the big expensive schools, so...why?
yeah no.
