I have seen the first and loved it. Will buy it soon.
I bought the blu-ray on sale at Best Buy a couple weeks ago for only $7.99.  The day after I bought it, the price was back up to normal.  Timing is everything.

I thought the first one was not so hot. To make a long story short there is no way that Jet Li is going to lose to Dolph Lundgren twice in one movie. However I hear this one has Chuck Norris and JCVD in it, so I'll see it.

Er...  Why not?  I gave the movie credit for that actually.  In real life, Li doesn't really know how to actually fight (basically all his martial arts training is non-contact), and Lundgren (an experienced sparrer and kickboxer) does - and in film context, Lundgren has somewhere between 70 and 100 pounds and almost a foot in height over Li.

That said, I quite enjoyed Expendables, and I think I'll enjoy the sequel even more.

Has anyone seen the director's cut of the Expendables?  I hear it is significantly improved.

Liked the first one and can't wait for the new one.    I'm eager to see how 71 year old Chuck Norris does in it.  He really looks really small compared to everyone else.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Pilgermann

I pretty much hated the first film, but I'll see this one anyway.

I was a little bit disappointed with the first one. I will see this one because they've assembled a cast that is worth seeing all by itself. This is the ensemble I used to imagine back when many of these guys were at their peak of popularity, and putting them in a movie together seemed totally impractical. Just about everybody who was anybody is in this one. As an action movie, it will be significant for that alone. If it also turns out to be good, then so much the better.

I do think they need to put the oldtimers a little bit more in their element, and crank up the 80s-style violence. That, for me, would be a huge improvement over the first Expendables, which I thought wasted a great cast on a fairly ordinary contemporary action story. If we're going to see all these old action stars together, we should see them as we remember them, doing the shtick that made us love them in the first place.

Fan trailer.  You can probably skip the last 15-20 minutes, though the dancing is funny.  I did think the first bit is actually pretty amusing.
