The Burgomaster

This barely made it into the "Good Movies" forum.  The only reason I listed it here instead of in "Bad Movies" is it seemed to be an ambitious, serious attempt at atmospheric occult horror.  So, I gave it points for effort.  Unfortunately, it is often dull and never delivers the anticipated shocks.

The movie begins with a woman being chased through the forest by a bearded guy wearing an amulet.  The woman reaches the authorities and claims the guy is the devil.  She ends up undergoing psychiatric evaluation, but is quickly kidnapped.  Her sister shows up and begins searching for her and ends up falling under the spell of the bearded guy (who spends a lot of time playing creepy music on a pipe organ).

As I said, this movie looks good and takes itself seriously.  Unfortunately, it ends up being dull most of the time and suffers from a bland ending.  B+ for effort / C- for execution.  Therefore, I could have easily justified posting this in the "Bad Movies" forum.
