I thought I'd started this thread before, but couldn't find it, so, if you could choose only 10 record albums (music) which would you choose?
As usual, right outta my ass:
1. BIG STAR Sister Lovers

2. JOSHUA RIFKIN Scott Joplin Piano Rags

3. FATS WALLER The Joint Is Jumpin'

4. VLADO PERLEMUTER Ravel Piano Works

5. DAVID BOWIE Low

6. THE BEATLES Abbey Road

7. THE ROLLING STONES Exile On Main Street

  8. SAMMY DAVIS JR. Sings LAURINDO ALMEIDA Plays

9. THE KINKS Are The Village Green Preservation Society

10. THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS The Gilded Palace of Sin

aah that's so difficult...:teddyr:  I've only heard 4 of the albums on your list. Abbey Road and 3rd/Sister Lovers I like a lot  . On a desert island I would probably go more for diversity instead of literally my "10 favourite albums", so I'll have a think...

Hmmmm....tough one. I did one one these for a little local zine about ten years ago and I guess I should update cause I've experinenced many great albums since then. Off the top of my head in no particular order:

Pink Floyd - Animals
Jesu - Opiate Sun EP
Swans - Love Of Life
Scorn - Refuse; Start Fires
Radiohead - OK Computer
Slowdive - Just For A Day
Angels Of Light - How I Loved You
Lull - Cold Summer
John Lee Hooker - 20th Century Masters Collection
....can't think of my last pick.
edit: Just got it!...
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock (Radiohead owes these guys some money:))

"Nothin' out there but God's little creatures - more scared of you than you are of them"  - Warren, "Just Before Dawn"

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Nas - Illmatic
Pavement - Brighten The Corners
AC/DC - Powerage
Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowlege

They're not all favorites, but of course are of some sort...  I just listen to these ten records a lot, but I already want to scrap at least three and replace.

This is hard because I listen to a lot of different stuff.  There's an episode of Red Dwarf where Lister's trying to persuade The Cat that he only has room for three suits in his escape pod, otherwise he'll be dead; and Cat says "Three suits IS dead!"  That's kind of how I am with my music.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.
