CASABLANCA on TCM 11pm EST TONIGHT!!!

If you have not seen CASABLANCA, it's a GREAT movie: loaded with character actor favorites (CONRAD VEIDT, CLAUDE RAINS, SYDNEY GREENSTREET, S.Z. SAKALL...many more) a savvy script, snappy lines, plus HUMPHREY BOGART and INGRID BERGMAN, and a great theme... there's a reason this movie tops many "best of" lists.  One of the best films to come out of Hollywood... IT'S GREAT!!!

this is a classic with a virtual who's-who of 1940s cinema in it

Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

This is one I'll have to try and catch.  I've never had the chance.

In fact, I haven't seen any film with Bogart.

It has come and gone, but if it comes on TV again, . . .

I know most people watch it for Humphrey Bogart and/or Ingrid Bergman, but if one wants to see great acting than watch it for Conrad Veidt as Major Heinrich Strasser. It is the best acting performance Veidt has ever done.

A little bit closer call, but also watch it for Claude Rains as Captain Louis Renault. If this is not the best acting acting performance Rains has ever done, then it comes close to being the best.

You may notice the first two actors I named are CONRAD VEIDT, CLAUDE RAINS whom are both major reasons to watch this film.  It is loaded with wonderful performances by some top notch character actors.  I am a fan of both BOGART and BERGMAN, but it's the character actors that keep this film ENDLESSLY WATCHABLE.
