Ermmm..... sorry, I meant Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia directed by Sam Peckinpah.

This has got be one of the weirdest films I have ever seen with one of the most unsympathetic yet likeable anti-heroes in Warren Oates' Bennie driving around with a head in a basket, arguing with it almost all the time and blowing away anyone who gets in his and the head's way. He actually starts to care for the head at one point, sticking a whole block of dry ice into the bag and is not really concerned about the fat reward he will be getting on delivering the head.

I liked it, once I'd recovered.  :teddyr:
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

The Burgomaster

This is one of those movies that's actually pretty bad . . . but I like it anyway because I'm a big Peckinpah fan.  Years ago I had a VHS copy and now I have it on DVD.  Warren Oates is always interesting and Peckinpah definitely knows how to create an atmosphere of boozy, surreal strangeness.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Good, another Sam Peckinpah fan.

I like it!  It's different from a lot of other Peckinpah films because it's from his pre-slow motion violence days, but still an enjoyable western.
