Secret Service looking into Ted Nugent violent anti-Obama message

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/secret-looking-ted-nugent-violent-anti-obama-message-225142639.html

The U.S. Secret Service is looking into a violent rant by "Catch Scratch Fever" rocker Ted Nugent  in which he denounced President Barack Obama and his top advisers as "evil" and urged National Rifle Association members to help "chop their heads off in November."

"I'll tell you this right now: If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said. "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"

Nugent, speaking at the organization's annual gathering over the weekend, praised NRA members but warned that if they did not "get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

"If the coyote's in your living room, p**sing on your couch, it's not the coyote's fault. It's your fault for not shooting him," he said.He also denounced the administration as "criminals" and said a Democratic victory in November would mean "we'll be a suburb of Indonesia next year" — an apparent reference to Obama's boyhood time there...

Nice. I was just thinking we were overdue for a thread dripping with vitriol. I can't wait.

I disliked him when he was not a political operative or commentator; I always thought his Rock sucks, but I suppose he's had his moments.  It's lookin' at 'im I can't stand.
Now, he's just an a$$hole.

Agreed, but you just know somebody is bound to reply in his defense. And it's gonna make for some fun times.

I liked one of his earlier comments about France, but this is not only over the top, it's just . . . weird.

What was said about Bush by our beloved  artists  from Sprinsteen to  an actual assassination  film, I have no problem with  his comments.

Stupid comments, but I disagree with the premise of the article that the Secret Service is "looking into" them. Sounds like the Yahoo reporter asked them for a comment and they gave the standard response that they're "conducting appropriate follow-up." Appropriate follow-up in this case is to do nothing. Nugent is asking people to vote for Romney, nothing else.

His music does suck though.

As a Ted Nugent fan I will admit that some of his politics are pretty tough. But he is a  God-fearing and patriotic American who loves his country and hates to see the path we are currently on. It's no secret that I despise Obama and I think it's past time that he and his administration were given the heave ho. I personally think it is too much foreign influence and PC baloney that are some of our biggest problems here. There are certain folks who want to drag us down to the level of less successful countries out of misplaced guilt or " we just know what is good for you". Pish posh! I don't need anyone telling me how to be a good American. I love this nation and would rather live here than anywhere else. Besides....we still have that "Freedom of Speech" thing. I remember how un-American the Bush administration tried to make you look if you said one word against it. Phooey! I have the right to point out our governments flaws and the right to my own opinion. So does Ted....
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

Good ole "Uncle Ted." He's an utter mongoloid but dang, he can wail the hell outta that gee-tar!!

What she said. I personally think that rug-kissing imposter should be dragged naked in chains down Pennsylvania Avenue, if only to send a message to those idiots who voted for him merely due to his genetics.

He wants to drag America down to a third-world level, he has no problem in killing innocent children, or at least, letting them die, , not to mention the fact that he and his stuck-up skank of a mate seem to think they're better than everyone other than their socialist-elitist friends.
If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

Let the games begin! YEEEEEEHAAAAAW!

Comedian Christopher Titus made a joke about Sarah Palin once that if she ever got elected he would hide on a grassy knoll. Not a great joke, but it got a few laughs and then he moved on to the next joke.

Commentators like Bill O'Reilly and Hannity made a big deal about it, naturally, saying he threatened her life and so on. Then, of course, Ted Nugent making a blatant threat and actually encouraging murder is naturally defended by the same people.

It seems double-standards are everywhere.

I think Ted Nugent is pinhead and I've never cared much for his music, but he is a celebrity and he encouraged killing the President, so if anybody does do anything about it, which will probably never happen, it makes for a nice vacuous three-ring circus of talking-head nonsense.

But honestly, can anybody really be shocked if somebody gets heat for threatening or encouraging the murder of the President? This is just very, very silly.

And before anybody pees themselves, I am not a liberal nor a Democrat. Invariably when I make posts expressing my views, because of the slightly right-leaning tendency of many of my bad movie neighbors, I get debated against as if I am representing such an agenda or posture. You can do that if you like, but you would be highly mistaken.

You must have read some expanded version of his comments that wasn't linked in the article. I didn't read or hear anything that came close to an actual, credible threat. We need to "chop their heads off in November" is a clear reference to ousting Democrats at the polls.

And Grover, you might want to contact Wikipedia---they're listing you as a certified Democrat.

Actually, I think you have a point. In both cases, no one actually DID anything, nor was there ther likelihood of anything being done; even if some yutz did do something, then blame what someone else said, he's just offering an excuse for his behavior.

Blaming Nugent (or anyone else, regardless of ideological stripe) for the actions of someone else is about on the level of the "comic-books-cause-juvenile-delinquency" rant of Dr. Wertham, and probably for the same reason....ATTENTION.
