I like to give credit where it's due, and as suggested by former member Frank81, who left us too soon...

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS?

Here's one, in no order, and right outta my ass as usual:

1. BERNARD HERRMANN's score for TAXI DRIVER

Who doesn't like BERNARD HERRMANN
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

HappyGilmore

Ironically, I'm watching Taxi Driver right now, first time I'm seeing it. :buggedout:

2.) Pulp Fiction has a great soundtrack.  I'd say most Tarantino films do, though.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.
It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide.

Sleepyskull

3. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

I love it. It makes it much more disturbing, as it should be.

If AHD agrees, I propose we stay away from musicals, at least for the most part. I think it'd be more interesting to focus on music composed as part of the film, not as the main focus. Maybe somebody could make a separate musicals thread? I'm sure one already exists.
Humanity takes itself too seriously. It is the world`s original sin. - Oscar Wilde

Rev. Powell

4. Not original stuff, of course, but great nonetheless...

AMADEUS
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Whatever you guys say.  I'm not a big fan of "musicals" anyway.     However, if this thread lasts very long, we may need to resort to such.   :teddyr:

5. 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY Soundtrack

If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

11. Popol Vuh, AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD...
Y'mean 12, Pillow.   12.  Thanks for numbering and naming your selection, though, that makes these lists a bit easier!

Sleepyskull, keeping in mind your thought, this might be called a musical, but it's a unique film, not a stage adaptation, and I love it and listen to this often:

13. ALL THAT JAZZ Soundtrack

Plus, like so many soundtracks, it is comprised mostly of recordings predating the production.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

15. The Ten Commandments by Elmer Bernstein
