I visited Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in New Jersey -- filming site of the original "Friday the 13th" - with my son's Cub Scout den this past weekend. Naturally I had to write a blog entry about this momentous horror geek weekend!!

That is actually a pretty good movie - for an 80's slasher flick.  Not as good as Halloween, but better than any Freddy Krueger movie.

I love "Halloween" as well but I think I've always preferred the first "F13" over it by just a smidgen because it's nastier and more mean spirited.  :teddyr:

That's awesome how much it looks the same 30 so years later.

I do like the original one, but part two is the best overall as a slasher film.

One of the counselors told me that the camp has been slowly upgrading all of the cabins to current building/wiring codes over the past several years, but it's a time consuming (and expensive) process.

The cabins were all built in the 1930s and since they're all log constructions, eventually the logs start to rot out (especially the ones on the bottom) and need to be replaced... but to do that they have to literally pick the entire cabin up off of its foundations in order to replace the rotten ones.
