Jersey Shore.

I know there are others but I really hated Jersey Shore.

Sitting Duck

The Kolchak remake from 2005. Aside from missing the point of the original Kolchak, Stuart Townshend was horribly miscast in the title role. Obviously Darren McGavin is a tough act to follow, but couldn't they have found someone less aggressively bland? When it first aired, TV Guide's Cheers and Jeers column gave the suits at ABC a Jeer for canceling the show right after the first episode of a two-parter. Having actually seen the series on DVD, I think it fully deserved such treatment.

Oprah was like a despot. I heard once that women who watched her show were more depressed than women who didn't.

Oprah...never watched it and never felt deprived or depressed or like less of a woman

Seinfeld....the appeal of this one always escaped me

Jersey Shore....urgh!

BTW.... a show that I could knock someone's block off for cancelling is CSI-New York
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

Had you posted this thread about a year ago I would have said Arrested Development.  I HATED that show despite only watching it a few times.  I never really found it that funny to begin with, mostly because it seemed that a majority of the characters where annoying.  Also I got tired of everyone telling me "its the best show you're not watching" all the time.  And some of those people where snotty about it as well.

Entertainment Weekly  (which I was getting free at the time because I had signed up for  a member ship awards card at a video store) would constanly talk about how great Arrested Development was like it was the be-all end-all of entertainment.  The final straw for me was when I saw one of the creators win an award and said something like " Once again proving we're the best show your not watching". He said it in such a condescending way, like he was really saying "See how awesome we are. Watch our show, you know nothing #$%#%heads!"

I was glad when it was gone.

And believe me, I know what its like when something you love isn't liked by a majority of the viewing public (Community, Pacific Rim etc)  So if you love the new Netflix season-good for you. Just leave me alone.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

I thought I was the only person on the planet that felt this way! Glad to know I am not alone.

It appears there's at least three of us.

Though it's been a long time, WILL & GRACE.  Awful, stupid show.

make that 4
I think "Seinfeld" wasn't a good show.  I think it was a great show.  But, I do think it's influence is mixed.  The "show about nothing" had the four most selfish, venal, unlikeable characters in a television program that I ever looked at.  All of the shows I like have an ensemble of charmingly gentle or stupid silly characters that I get soft towards.  Not "Seinfeld".  I did not appreciate it until I caught the reruns.  And I laughed.  And laughed.  Damned hateful characters who were so self-absorbed as to be hilarious.   However, like it or not, it's a very important television program.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

I never understood what all the whoop-de-doo was about involving Arrested Development, either. I tried watching the show once or twice due to all the press/critical praise, but I found it fairly irritating.
