The Land Before Time was milked with about 12 straight-to-video sequels and a TV series, talk about overkill. Maybe they should have kept it at V and done the TV series earlier.

They should have kept it at one honestly...I owned 1-3 on VHS as a kid and by god they got bad after the awesome Don Bluth-one.
thanks, added... never even heard of these.

also added the fifth 'Guinea Pig' movie, which confusingly is called 'Guinea Pig 2: Android of Notre Dame'

anyone whose never heard of the Guinea Pig films, they're the ultra gory Asian flicks that Charlie Sheen reported to the FBI, believing them to be snuff movies! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinea_Pig_(film_series)

Speaking of Guinea Pig. Faces of Death had a 5th Movie and Scary Movie V should also be mentioned.
Also if you count Alien vs. Predator - Requiem, you could also include Predators (5th Predator-Movie).

There are a total of NINE films in the "Tomie" Japanese film series!

At the risk of being brained by dozens of thrown shoes, I would like to offer Leonard Part 6: it was a relief that there was no part 5 or parts 1-4 for that matter.   :teddyr:

Is this based on the Junji Ito Manga Series?

From what I know, the first was quite dark and depressing at times, though the sequels went with a more family-friendly direction with lighter-hearted storylines and song montages.

Yeah...same happened with Bluth's "Secret of Nimh" and "An American Tail" even though both of them were never milked like "Land before Time".

wow, this looks so bad. what a load of...

After reading about house party I remembered another movie-series which was really popular in Germany called "Eis am Stiel".
According to IMDB the US-title is either "Going all the Way" or "Lemon Popsicle". You guys ever heard of them? There are 8 movies and one spin-off.

I had not heard of these movies!  The first was made in 1978 and is an Israeli film about 60s high school teens.  Sex, abortion and unrequited love are the prevalent themes.  Director Boaz Davison also directed the American film THE LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN and HOSPITAL MASSACRE (X-RAY).  The Golan/Globus team (who did a number of American films, including HELL NIGHT) produced the first film.  I will have to look for this!

I'm supposed to be a South African film historian. Imagine my shock when I discovered that there are not two The Gods Must Be Crazy films but FIVE!!

The first two are the official Jamie Uys films and the other three are Chinese knock-offs.  :tongueout:
