The most violent film you have seen?

I have seen a lot of violent films, including the original EVIL DEAD and the remake, ROBOCOP, DEAD ALIVE, and one crazy zombie flick whose title I can't remember but whose level of violence was absolutely insane!

As far as violence that really bothered me, though, probably SAVING PRIVATE RYAN - because it was a realistic depiction of what my Dad's generation lived through.

And THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, because it was a realistic depiction of the price the Son of God paid to redeem me.

Ya know, now that I think about it, it may not have been a zombie film.  Just a "guy goes psycho and wastes everybody" kind of movie.
But I can't remember the name of it.  Maybe SUMMER OF SLAUGHTER?

I saw a trailer for two Asylum movies that were nothing but almost nonstop gore and violence in just the trailers (one was a zombie film [Dead Men Walking] and the other about a demon [Shapeshifter]....not sure about the films...but they looked awful.

The Rambo films have to rate pretty high in terms of violence...actually many 70s- 80s action films probably deserve a mention. How about the late 70s, early 80s slashers? The Terminator films? Some of the Troma movies...

How about Commando?  The part where Scwarzenegger goes off on the banana boat dictator's men on the front lawn of his mansion with the M-60. not to mention the rest of the poor bastards when he used the other weapons, geez!

For me, there are two types of violent films:
high body count
and disturbingly graphic violence.
We'll take the 2nd one 1st.

What do I mean by disturbingly graphic violence? For me it is . . .
decapitations
other injuries to the head and throat (shootings, bludgeonings, etc.)
injuries to the chest and/or stomach that result in coughing up or vomiting up of blood.
Examples: . . .

Face of Fear
Richardo Montalban, as the hero, and the villain are having a gunbattle on the beach, and the villain catches a bullet right between the eyes. What made this memorable was how the villain's eyes rolled up in his head, so only the whites showed.

Intolerance
Two men are fighting with swords. Then all of a sudden the one on the left loses his head.

Unknown
Similiar to "Intolerance," but the fight is closer to the camera, and when the man on the left loses his head, his body flops toward the camera, and two fountaining geysers of blood erupt out of his neck.

Sword of Lancelot

War and Peace (1966)
the rose of death ever blooming. A young boy is tied to a stake in front of a firing squad. Shots ring out. Boy jerks forward as blood spurts from neck. Body continues to jerk downward, till it just sags still tied to the stake.

Frankenstein: the True Story
the sound of a woman's sewn on head being ripped off her body.
a man's head strikes a wall, leaving traces of blood and brains on the wall.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
limbs lopped off.
man stabbed through the eye slit of his helmet. Blood spurt.

Cry of the Banshee
2 men fighting over a gun on a staircasel. Gun goes off. Man on left gets full load of buckshot in the face, which is no longer there.
Boy stabbed in the stomach by a knife. Starts to hemorrhage blood from mouth.
Woman has throat slit, so she dies ssslllooowww!

It is in the Top 10 films of child deaths, where it is 8th with 7=6 boys +1 girl. The others . . .
