How awful. I hope the many good memories it sounds like you have of her are some comfort during this sad time.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

I am home briefly due to the kindness of one of my sister in law's friends.  She had so many friends, I'm having a hard time keeping all the names straight (I only knew a fraction of them).  I am going back south shortly, but stopped in here and was touched to see all of the kind remarks.  I have hopefully successfully placed two horses, two dogs, and possibly three cats with three more to go (though I'm still responsible until that happens for the six in the house).  There are also numerous "feral" cats on her property.  Yes, I've been advised about "termites" coming out of the woodwork.  And they are.  I learned again that people can be mercenary and callous.  I have more questions than answers - and not the usual questions (those too) - but stuff like... Is there a will???  Is there a bank vault?  How many mutual funds are there and who are they with and who might be the beneficiaries.   :bluesad:  I don't have time to be sad.  I have a lot of work to do.

What can I say but what everyone else has said. Stay strong!

You have all been kind.  It's no wonder to me why I love this place.

My brother's wife, my friend most of my life...  I stayed home tonight on the advice of one of my beloved sister's friends.  Tomorrow I stay at the farm.  I miss her so much.  The loss of this beloved beautiful lady is devastating.  I have been through many long terrible deaths, but none so sudden.  I thought I knew "everything".  Now it has hit me.  I know zero.  She is gone and  I love her.

Once again, hugs and be strong, BrotherAHD: we're here for you.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

My heart goes out to you, my friend.
Shed your tears freely and without regret; there is no shame in grief that is rooted in love.

So sorry for your loss.  It's wonderful of you to take on these responsibilities for her.  You're an amazing man and I'm sure you'll get it all worked out.  Like Trevor said - we're here for you!

That is indeed terrible. My condolences to you and your family.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Well, AHD...  If there is a will, and if you are the executor, you can always start practicing your best Gene Wilder:   YOU GET NOTHING!  YOU LOSE!!

(sorry...  every time I see your avatar I remember that remarkable rant.)

As your badmovies fellows, wemourn your loss.  I wish you peace and rest and will keep you in my prayers.

Down to one cat in the house, when he's caught and placed, then I step away.  Three were removed today, one with the assistance of a shelter, though that's not where she went (that was the worst catch yet!!) and all are receiving medical attention, proper care, and are placed.  One is very important and old, but will be tracked for his life as necessary.  I could not take him, but can pay for him to "Cat City" in a wonderful shelter from my own inheritance.
There's no will yet.  Some friends came in and cleaned just to make it more tolerable.  My sister had many wonderful friends.

My poor beloved friend, my brother's wife and my sister,  was apparently on many medications, more than even I was aware of... I think Polypharmacy stopped her heart.   :bluesad:
What do I know?    Now, I'm almost at the surface and will never spend a night again in that miserable stinky house.
