just remembered an extremely weird one, ROCK N ROLL NIGHTMARE. nothing makes sense in it, especially the big final scene which seems to have been imported from a completely different movie! it's great entertainment though
Zombie, I absolutely cherish Rock N Roll Nightmare but at the risk of sounding like a dick I really can't say it's a slasher per se. My favorite part is when the drummer mysteriously loses his English accent halfway through the movie.  :bouncegiggle:

The Forrest (1982) has its share of weirdness, mixing slasher with ghosts and I think cannibalism.
Man that one sucked. Here's a few more goodies......
The Prey (1984)
Sooooo much padding it could qualify as a nature film minus the killin'.....
! No longer available

The Unseen (1980)
s**t gets REALLY weird when the monster shows up......
! No longer available

The laughably bad Rocktober Blood...
I rented this once, then watched it with the sound turned off...
Apparently, the lead singer of some heavy metal band (who looks more like the kind of guy who runs around beating up heavy metal fans) goes bonkers one night & kills his bandmates & their entourage. He gets the chair, & a few years later, his girlfriend, who survived the massacre, has started a new band. But she's being stalked, & believes he faked his death.

The death scenes are pretty silly. In the opening, they actually show the actor placing fake knife tips & squirting fake blood on the other actors. And by the end, they aren't even trying, the actor just makes a "gesture" with his spear mounted on a microphone stand, then cutaway/cut back to an actress playing dead.

For the perfect blend of gratuitous nudity & disappointment, there are several scenes of the lead actress stripping down for tub time with her back to the camera.

Perhaps most noteworthy, a break dancer... No, really, a break dancer, at a heavy metal concert, who can't mime, moonwalk, or do any of that break dancing stuff!

just checking out Rocktober Blood on youtube. I know I've seen it before, but I don't recall anything that's going on, must have a really bad memory lol

fair enough I suppose technically it isn't, in the same kind of way I wouldn't call a movie like 'Species' a slasher...

and I haven't seen The Unseen (no pun intended!)

I saw it once or twice on cable when I was little.
My older sister kept going on & on about it being a rip-off of Silent Scream with the genders reversed.
I think I rented Silent Scream once just to see what she was ranting about, but I wasn't able to sit through it, & wound up fast forwarding through it all.

WHOAH! Now I need to see this one. Heavy metal themed 80s horror flicks are always a goldmine for sheer awesomeness. Terror On Tour, Black Roses, Trick Or Treat, Rock N Roll Nightmare....
Lil'C...I've been wanting to see Silent Scream for a long time now. I'm guessing I should avoid it, no? I think Justin at Hysteria Lives! gave it a bad review if I'm not mistaken.

Those of you who are brave enough to stomach it, my review is on the submitted reader reviews child board. I don't mean stomach the movie, I mean the review.

HOUSE OF DEATH (1982)
Hell yes!!!! House Of Death is awesome despite there's no actual house of death to speak of. Shame it sat in the shelf for so long. I've been waiting for years for it to be released on dvd/bd.

Found this one on youtube. I haven't watched it yet, but it certainly seems like it would fit right in.

Another one:
CRAWLSPACE (1986)
Not particularly good, but Klaus Kinski is such a nutbag (onscreen and off) that it's at least good for a few chuckles.
