Hood Movie

Trying to remember the title of a gangsta hood movie.
The scene I'm thinking of shows a bunch of black guys hanging out near a sidewalk when a skinny crackhead wearing a "We Want Eazy" shirt comes up behind one of them, snatches the gold chain off his neck, and takes off running.  All the guys chase him down and beat him up.  I think one even throws a garbage can on him.

I'm thinking it may be Menace II Society but I can't remember.
Anyone?
