Full disclosure: I am not much of a Denzel Washington fan because of his part in the anti-South African pile of *beep* known as Cry Freedom but he is a very good actor indeed.

DW plays Robert McCall, a ex soldier and defence expert who retires from the game but is pulled out of self imposed retirement (working at a Home Depot) after a young girl he befriends is brutalized by the Russian mob: the revenge he extracts without once using a gun is quite something.

Based on the TV series starring Edward Woodward, this was well worth my time.  :teddyr:

Neville

I didn't like this one much... I've assumed by now that remaking a TV series is just an excuse to do a regular movie and save in advertising, but I still would have liked something closer to the original, just for once. Instead, they went for the usual action stuff. So OK, it's all professionally made, but there's nothing in it to distinguish it from the other dozen "Taken" knock offs of the year.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

The Burgomaster

I got this from NetFlix.  It has been sitting in my house for about 3 weeks.  I should have just bought it.
